Evelina Children's Hospital
The LEAP Study is being conducted in the Snowy Owl Ward of the Evelina Children's Hospital at St Thomas Hospital .
The award-winning Evelina Children's Hospital opened in October 2005 and cost £60 million to build. The 140-bed Evelina, which is based on the St Thomas' Hospital site, brings the majority of Guy's and St Thomas' children's services together under one rood and includes a floor dedicated to the treatment of day case patients. The Evelina is London's first new children's hospital for more than 100 years.
In May 2006 a new children's allergy service was opened at the Evelina Children's Hospital at St Thomas' Hospital. The service is a combined academic and NHS service which is lead by Professor Gideon Lack. The service currently has three paediatric allergy consultants and a full support staff consisting of research fellows, nurses, dietitians, laboratory and administrative staff.
Evelina Children's Hospital at St Thomas’ Hospital is part of the Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust includes two of London's best known hospitals providing patients with the latest treatment and care for two central London sites near Waterloo and London Bridge. As well as a full range of general hospital services, we offer a wide range of specialist care, including children's, cardiac, cancer, dermatology and women's services.
